SS: Capturing Americans

Currently, there are approximately 300 million Americans. If 50 million of America's youngest, strongest, and most capable of earning wages and contributing to the economy of the country suddenly disappeared, what would be the consequences for the future of America. How long would such consequences last (decade, score, century, how many generations)?

First, the economy will fail. With 50 million of Ameria's most productive and intelligent workers gone, there will be a huge vacancy in jobs. Factories that rely on workers will be slowed down. Restaurants will be in need of staff. A big industry today in America is technology-related, so there will also be a lot fewer coders and technicians. With a certain age group gone, products produced that are pointed towards that age group will also decline. Companies that produce cosmetic products, fast food, amusement parks, and more will struggle. This consequence will probably last for a few decades. By the third generation, everything should be pretty much back to normal as a new batch of young, strong, and adept adults will start working.
